Free website hosting I actually like

The screenshot shown above is from a top-rated web hosting company that I just discovered. 000webhost's claim to fame is that it provides high quality website hosting that is 100% free, and it was recently ranked number one in this category of hosting firms in an article I saw.

I had tried to utilize Wix for free hosting prior to finding 000webhost, but was disappointed to learn that they only allow you to use their website templates. Although Wix's large selection of templates is probably a plus for ninety percent of those wanting a free website, I am not in that set. I want to build my websites from the ground up and need FTP access. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and it is one of the original functions of the internet, predating even Web browsers. 000webhost gives its users a GUI to FTP files up to the server, but I prefer to use my favorite FTP program Filezilla, which is actually allowed! This was enough to seal the deal on their set-up.

Of course 000webhost offers free website templates and an online editing system, too. So if you would like to build your own website but not spend one thin dime doing it, I recommend 000webhost.
